We Made New Bookshelves and 500 Books Arrived!

Doris found a way to acquire a selection of 500 high interest books in English. Fiction and non-fiction alike, there is something that all the young people can find. Many of the books that these English language learners want to read are at a reading level above their current skill. That's good for aspiration, but a little daunting- the young people were instantly thrilled anyway. Trying to find high-interest lower reading-level material is a little tougher. There is a palpable thirst among the students to increase their English acumen. We're looking at the possibility of an interactive white board or a document camera that could increase the engagement and access. Of course, these would be a luxury that's not currently in the budget.
