Our Story

Educators for life!​ Both Ginny and Marc are lifelong educators, Marc as a high school math teacher and middle school language arts and history teacher, assistant principal, principal and BVSD executive director. It took the possibility of this adventure to get Ginny to finally retire... for good this time!​  With two grown boys, each married to amazing women, and grandparents to 5 wonderful kids, we've been feeling pretty darn lucky. Our family and friends make our lives all the richer.​ We do feel very fortunate to live the life we do. We have the opportunity and the means to share some of that.  We have the opportunity to do more than just support causes we care about with donations. That why we are here!

Their Story

Velos Youth Centre is a non profit-organization (NGO) founded in 2017, to support young people on the move to re-start and re-build their lives. These youth are 16-30 year-old unaccompanied refugees who faced tremendous odds.    Velos Youth Centre offers a range of services from social work, education, life skills, and legal guidance through the asylum process.  Velos provides a response to the evolving needs of newly arrived young people in urban Athens and a place where they can come together as persons – not profiles – to understand and practice both difference and unity. We work with young people to help them reimagine their futures, and take the next steps towards achieving their goals and aspirations.​
